Mission Statement:
The mission of One Mom’s Battle is to increase awareness of Cluster B
personality disorders (Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Antisocial
Personality Disorder and Borderline
Personality Disorder) and their impact upon shared parenting in the
Family Court System which includes Judges, CPS workers, Guardian ad
Litems (GAL), Parenting Coordinators (PC), therapists and attorneys.
Education on Cluster B disorders will allow these professionals to truly
act in the best interest of the children. The second portion of the OMB
mission is to provide support and education for the parents who are
dedicated to protecting their child(ren) from a personality disordered
individual.
The Mission of One Mom’s Battle (OMB, established in 2011) is twofold:
1) to provide a common meeting place for men and women dealing with a Cluster B personality disordered (narcissistic, antisocial, borderline, and histrionic) ex in high conflict family court cases allowing members to support one another and problem solve together in a positive fashion.
1) to provide a common meeting place for men and women dealing with a Cluster B personality disordered (narcissistic, antisocial, borderline, and histrionic) ex in high conflict family court cases allowing members to support one another and problem solve together in a positive fashion.
2) to educate the Family Court System on high-conflict divorces fueled by individuals with Personality Disorders and to recognize that the emotional abuse and self focused manipulative behaviors of a Cluster B parent constitutes domestic violence. The continued trauma upon the child places them at risk for both physical and psychological disorders (see ACE study). Courts need to protect these children rather than focus on parental rights.
Women’s Transitional Living Center, Inc. (WTLC) was founded in 1976 as the result of a needs assessment study of battered women in Orange County, conducted by the National Organization for Women’s Task Force on Family Violence. Originally creating to meet the extraordinary need for shelter services for survivors of domestic violence, WTLC quickly expanded to providing a comprehensive residential program, a children’s program, a crisis hotline, and a community services program. From the beginning, WTLC was committed to service all victims of violence including women struggling with substance abuse or mental illness and survivors with older male children.
